Don Diego`s Restaurant in Gallup

The sheephearder is really good! The chicken enchiladas were delicious. My son enjoyed his cheeseburger. The service was friendly and efficient. Glad we made this short trip off the highway for great local fare.

Really great food. Meat by itself is a little bland. Make sure to add the green, red, or both sauces. The green has good flavor while the red is more spicy. Service was good, parking was easy. Kids plates are available, hot dogs and grilled cheese. Margarita was good size and priced very affordable.

Excellent food and service!

Absolutely delicious. We were just passing through and found this place. Very clean and neat inside and the staff is very friendly. Prices are super reasonable. I got the taquitos (pictured below) and they were delicious. Free chips and salsa as well. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent home grown cooking. Been going to theis great family owned restaurant for years. Since I was a young boy. Love the #8 - chicken tacos... Great service and delicious food.

Food was great. Flavor is different on some days....wonder if different cook maybe. Prices a little high.

Sh!tty service. I came here under a good impression, but the servers lacked customer service and were very rude talking in Spanish about our party. I knew they were saying bad words and talking nasty. Plus it took a whole 20 minutes for us to get our refills, I had to hold my empty glass up in the air and wave it in the air to get someone’s attention. Won’t bother coming back to this rude place.

Good Mexican food and good service.

Every time I come here the food is great the waitress and waiters are nice and the price is unbelievable fair for such good food. If you have a chance I recommend the green chili stew

Hard to beat this restaurant in Gallup. Excellent Mexican an American food. Fajita's very good. Biscochitos best of anywhere...

Good place to eat for when not in a rush... Very friendly service, food served hot, waitress was nice and attended to us in a timely matter.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, Hampton Inn. It was somewhat like a cafeteria setting, not much of a decor. The food was decent, better than some but definitely not the best. The frozen margaritas we're ok, the service was good. It was a comfortable experience but not overly friendly. I had slow roasted pork in a red chilli sauce which was great. My husband had veg fajitas which were okay. The prices are good for the meal. What I loved most was dining with the locals which I always appreciate when out of my home town.

I like the food here. Very inexpensive. Some waitresses seem prejudice. Others are nice. Spanish speaking.... I didn't know what they were saying. I felt awkward.

I never eat on the restaurant side feels a little to open and of course it is Gallup... people tend to stare and be noisy so I perfer the lounge side. Its not the biggest or very roomy but it gets the job done especially on those easy going nights. When its packed do not bother trying to find a table. I recommend the Ritas with 1800 Gold and Grand Marnier (lowest price I know of in town as of today) and their Chicken Quesadilla or Beef Tacos. The salsa is not hot according to my tolerance but sometimes has a flavor and their green chili could be better but it works.

It was okay. The food wasn't great, and it wasn't horrible. The server and staff were friendly enough. Food took a while even allowing extra time for our current conditions.

Good quality New Mexican food. Portions are substantial, and their New Mexico chili is good. Prices are reasonable and service was efficient, and the order was served quickly. They have a full American food menu as well.

Service was excellent...and the food is top notch. We're in town every year for the hot air balloon rally. Definitely making this place s yearly stop for breakfast.

The service was good. They were very friendly and moved at a fast pace. They were on point on customer service as well. The food was delicious and it had a calm environment.

My family and I showed up at the restaurant at 8:30 p.m. There were no other customers there and I could see they were getting ready to close but the staff gladly let us dine in although they close at 9 p.m. We stayed until 9:50 and it was no problem for them. The servers were very friendly and courteous. I love that they allowed us time together as a family. Thank you to the employees of Don Diego's. Awesome service and delicious food. 👍

During the covid 19 crisis. We ordered 2 ribey steaks and a bean and checharon burrito. They were perfect . as always was thank you guys so much. We love and miss you all.

Pretty decent, good prices. Visited while driving across country. The fries with my sons meal and the shredded beef in my taquitos were very good.

Impressive Google reviews and recommend to us by locals. Tried the the good for first time. We ordwred chicken enchiladas with green chile, beef tacos and chips and salsa. Food was spicy, fresh and nicely seasoned. Salsa was chunky tomatoes, jalepeno and delicious. We ordered Togo, was small serving of rice and beans on side. The building is in industrial area with lots of parking. Very good food and we will be back next time through town.

Food was ok but i was overcharged for my drinks had only one drink not 2...pay close attention to your check

First and foremost the staff is friendly. Next we loved the salsa and bought a quart to take home. The food was great as we're the prices.

I thought I had ate Mexican food before, but not until I ate here. This was the best, everything was fresh. I had pork carnitas it was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, but not overly. Would go back.
